If I had my way, all holiday gifts would be of the homemade variety.
There’s nothing I love more than receiving something that someone I love made specially for me - putting time, effort and care into the gift.
Or alternatively, an experience! I love this round-up from Kathryn at the Going Zero Waste blog, highlighting 50 awesome experiences you can gift a loved one, without breaking the bank.
But I know as well as anyone, that there are some folks on my list where those types of gifts just don’t work. And in those instances? Online shopping for the WIN.
Last year I was able to do all of my holiday shopping without setting foot in a store or mall, and it was glorious!

This month, 50 lucky OhmConnect community members will be going home with $250 to spend on Amazon purchases.
First things first - if you’re not yet an OhmConnect user, get registered. Not only could you be eligible to win a shopping spree on Amazon, but you’ll be entered into a program that actually pays you to save energy on a weekly basis. We might be a bit biased, but we think it’s pretty great ;)
Once you’re in, there are a few ways you can qualify for the prize! You can either:
1. Keep an eye out for #OhmHour notifications you receive over the next two weeks. If you spot a Prize #OhmHour in your inbox, take a close look at the goal set for you. (They will something along the lines of "use 1 kWh or less." These targets are tailored to your own personal energy use, so everyone has an equal chance of hitting the goal.) If you achieve your goal, you will be put in the pool of others who did the same and names will be randomly selected as the reward recipients, OR
2. Refer a new user to OhmConnect using your unique referral code. If they get to Silver Status during the qualification period, you’re in! OR
3. Have a smart device (like a Wifi thermostat or smart plug) connected to your OhmConnect account during the Prize #OhmHour for instant eligibility!
